Amos Fon’s illustrious career spans over 35 years in the social economy, encompassing credit union management, non-profit leadership, and university teaching in Cameroon. His dedication culminated in the founding of African Dream in 2010, a social enterprise committed to developing potentials and empowering youths, women, and communities to tackle their livelihood challenges head-on.
Amos holds Professional Diplomas in Accounting and Management from the UK, and a Masterā€™s in Development Economics with a specialization in Micro-enterprise Development from Southern New Hampshire University in the USA. He is also a Fellow of the Microfinance Association in London. In 2022/2023, he participated as a Cohort 4 Fellow in the prestigious Inspired Leadership Initiative at the University of Notre Dame, USA. His mission was to find discernment and clarify his purpose in the second chapter of his life.
Born and raised in poverty in Bamenda, Cameroon, Amos overcame significant adversity. He weathered life’s storms, defining his own trajectory and emerging as a mentor and role model for thousands of young people through his inspirational work and talks. His passion for addressing the development challenges of Sub-Saharan Africa is reflected in his extensive research on wealth creation and microfinance as critical tools for development. Currently, Amos is focused on establishing a network of Youth Economic Empowerment Groups in Cameroon, furthering his commitment to fostering economic resilience and self-reliance in his community.
